Our newest route. The Golden Gate Park Segway Tour is the most sensational way to see this 1000+ acre park! You will love gliding through the roads and trails on a Segway. This fully narrated journey will take you to the Park's best views and hidden locations while learning about the history and tales of this oasis in the city.
Fun Fact: Golden Gate Park is larger than New York's Central Park and once consisted of sand dunes that are now covered with more than 75,000 trees!
We are the exclusive licensed Segway tour operator in Golden Gate Park We have a limited amount of walk up tickets available. Most tours sell out. We strongly encourage advance reservations!

Tour Rate:
$70.00 per person. Advance reservations are encouraged.
Departure Dates and Times:
Golden Gate Park Segway Tours depart April though October daily 9:00 am, 12:30 pm and 4:00 pm. November through March 10:00 am and 1:30 pm daily. Extra tour times added during busy season.
All tours start on time, so please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. Allow lots of extra arrival time on weekends.
Tour will be closed on Christmas & New Year day. We will also be closed during major public events in the Park.
Tour Length:
Training takes 35-40 minutes, Tours are two one half hours including the training time. During the busy Summer season training time may be slightly longer.
Golden Gate Park Segway Tour Sights and Stops
The seven mile tour route explores the eastern section of the 1107 acre park on winding trails and bike routes.
On the guided Golden Gate Park Segway Tour you will learn about:

This tour is ideal for locals or visitors alike. You will enjoy a great opportunity to ride a segway while exploring one of the largest urban parks in the U.S.
NOTE: Tour does not include entry into museums or admission fee attractions Every tour makes numerous stops for photos.
Training Session and Segway in the Park Courtesy Rules
After a 35-40 minute fun training on how to safely operate the Segway, you'll explore the Park with a fully narrated tour. Tours are limited to eight riders per guide and ages 12 and up over 100 lbs (45 kilos) are welcome.
- Each guest receives hands-on training with an instructor, test ride, skills practice,
rider courtesy instruction and review of our Golden Gate Park rules of the road and rider courtesy agreement.
We want a positive tour experience for our guests and encourage respect for residents and visitors sharing the roads and paths in the Park.
Departure Location & Directions
San Francisco Golden Gate Park Segway Tour start location is in the paved area directly behind the Sprekels Temple of Music ( band stage ) in the Golden Gate Park Music Concourse area.
If you are trying to find us using GPS the entrance to the Japanese Tea Garden is across the street from our training lot at 75 Hagiwara Tea Garden Drive SF CA 94118.
Parking spaces are not available at the guest training location. The Segway training area is not visible until you are behind the Band shell (stage.) On some GG Park special event days the training area will be moved to the adjacent Tour Bus Parking Lot.
Paid underground garage parking is available at the Music Concourse Garage located between the deYoung Museum and the California Academy of Science. We do not reimburse parking costs. Free on street parking is available on adjacent streets and fills rapidly on weekends. We suggest taking public transit on MUNI to the Park.

Important: John F. Kennedy Drive through the park is closed on Sundays from Transverse Drive to McLaren Lodge.
From April through September JFK Drive is also closed to traffic on Saturdays from Tea Garden Drive to Transverse Drive. Allow extra time to travel to and find parking on weekends. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled tour time to check in and start your tour and training on time.

Golden Gate Park is 20% larger than Central Park in New York, It is over three miles (5 km) long east to west, and about half a mile north to south!

The Conservatory of Flowers is one of the world's largest conservatories built of traditional wood and glass panes.

Stow Lake, the largest of the manmade lakes in Golden Gate Park, offers boat rentals and features Strawberry Hill in the center.

The Music Concourse is a sunken, oval-shaped open-air plaza originally excavated for the California Midwinter International Exposition of 1894. Its focal point is the Spreckels Temple of Music.

The AIDS Memorial Grove has been in progress since 1988. In 1996, it was designated a national memorial by an act of Congress.
